Srisha Sarsanwar, a freshman at Rocky Hill High School, is just like any other kid except for her passion in art. She has been creating as far as she can remember. Her parents have sent her to various classes regarding art forms such as pencil sketching, paper art, and watercolor; they ignited her interest.
“I love painting the eyes and faces of people with a twist of nature added in, like flowers growing out of their hair,” she says. Sarsanwar gets inspiration from practically anywhere, from the glistening of an eye in the sun to nature’s beauty.
In her art projects, Srisha has the ability to incorporate surrealist facial features, crocheting, and acrylics. Nowadays, she doesn’t attend her art classes anymore, except art club at RHHS, but she applies what she learned whenever she sits down and picks up her pencil.
Creativity plays a pretty big role in Srisha’s life. She doesn’t use her talent just for fun. It helps her in the real world too. For instance, drawing guides her to understand information; in classes such as geometry and science, visualizations help Srisha understand rules and concepts.
“Often, drawing out notes and concepts in other classes such as science or geometry helps me process it better. Drawing is kind of like a shorthand for me, to be able to understand notes easier,” Sarsawar goes on to say.
This can help in her future career as well. It may not help in everything she is struggling with, but it can definitely reduce some of her problems.
Srisha is an excellent artist, and her specialty in this field has taken a lot of time; she doesn’t have any complaints though, she loves every single second of it.
