Last Thursday on Feb. 17, Rocky Hill High School held the 2022 Valentine’s Day Dance. For those of you who weren’t able to attend, we have the details of what went on during the dance.
The Valentine’s Day dance was an event held inside the school on February 17, 2022. For just $5 for a ticket which went to paying for the DJ and other activities, so students find that true lover to dance and have fun.
However, this wasn’t any ordinary dance. Due to COVID-19 concerns, there were lots of changes that weren’t in the original plans of the dance.
“Students [were] required to wear masks, and no food [was] available,” said Mrs. Bobair, a teacher that was responsible for planning the dance.
Some other new adjustments were added, such as Freshman and Sophomores being included in the dance, meaning that all grades were allowed to participate in the dance this year. This adjustment was made due to the junior and senior ticket sales being minimal.
Sadly, some people were disappointed with these changes.
After the dance, a senior, named Jasmine Edmunds, responded with her thoughts on the dance this year, saying, “I thought that the dance was very awkward. It was mainly underclassmen standing around in groups and there was nothing interesting happening. Honestly, middle school dances were better than this one. There weren’t even snacks. I ended up leaving early. I thought the little photo booth was cute though.”
On some good news however, a junior, named Emily Massicotte, responded with some good thoughts on the dance, saying, “I loved the dance! It was a fun way for me to socialize with friends I wouldn’t normally get [to] see out of school!”
With this information, hopefully more people will attend next year’s dance! And for future Freshman, we hope this will get your interested in trying out the dance for the first time!
