Rocky Hill Youth Art Show opens March 9
This reception for the annual Rocky Hill student art exhibit celebrating Youth Art Month will be held on March 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. The exhibit features art created by Rocky Hill students from K-12 at the Cora J. Belden library. The exhibit will run from March 3 to March 30. At the reception, there will be refreshments and cookies prepared by the culinary students from RHHS, and the RHHS Jazz Band will be performing. The reception is sponsored by the RHHS National Arts Honors Society (NAHS) and the RHHS Arts Department. Honors students will be selling painted rocks to raise the funds for this event.
RHHS mathematics students prepare for the American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) runoff
The ARML runoff, a competitive mathematics qualifier intended for high school students, will take place remotely on March 9 from 4:15-6:30 p.m. The qualifier enters students into the ARML state team to compete at Penn State. Students from around the world will compete in an international competition with their respective regional teams. The RHHS Math Team students have been going through previous qualifiers to prepare.
Terrier Tough volunteers needed
The Rocky Hill Student Council is looking for volunteers for the Terrier Tough competition on April 2. Volunteers will help organize the track and guide competitors through each challenge. Volunteers can claim volunteer hours for the day from Ms. Morgan or Ms. Rosenberg.
RHHS participates in World Down Syndrome Day
Students are encouraged to show their support for those Down Syndrome by wearing crazy socks on March 21. The school store will also be selling socks during the day to raise awareness. Students can also bring sock donations to room 2048 (Mrs. Bergeron) or room 1027 (Ms. Brzozowski). All proceeds go towards supporting those with Down Syndrome.
Rocky Hill Royal Blues Marching Band recruits drum line members
Drum line rehearsals will begin on March 15 in the RHHS band room from 3:30-5:30 p.m. New members can attend rehearsals; no experience or registration necessary. See Mr. Shuman for more information.
Class of 2025 hosts first annual RHHS Talent Show
The talent show will take place on March 23 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets will be sold the week of the show and at the door for $5 per person. Performers can register in advance through the QR codes on flyers. All proceeds go to the Class of 2025.
Senior Class hosts RHHS Dodgeball Tournament
The tournament will take place on March 8 at 4:45 p.m. The bracket is posted outside the cafeteria. Tickets will be be sold in advance and at the door for $5 per person. Sixteen teams of six will be competing for bragging rights. All proceeds go to the Class of 2023.
